{ Weekend Trips ‘Best secret beach on earth’ Soft sand beaches as far as the eye can see. It’s no wonder Grand Haven was named the Best Secret Beach on Earth by Travel + Leisure magazine, recognizing Rosy Mound Natural Area as the “sweet spot.” Other area beaches offer equally beauti-ful and publically accessible waterfront memories. If see-ing and being seen is more your style, then Grand Haven State Park and City Beach provide an active scene dot-ted with colorful umbrellas and beach towels. Enjoy open volleyball courts, a flick of the Frisbee, or just sit back and enjoy the view of boaters tooling along on the horizon with your favorite book in hand. Bring your own peddle power or rent some in town. If hiking trails is your thing you will surely enjoy the endless options avail-able through Ottawa County Parks.
